Jacob's Story
Our Jacob was just barely two years old when he passed away suddenly from Volvulous, an abnormal condition of the intestine. Like most little boys, he loved playing with his cars, sports, monster trucks and anything outside. Most of all he loved his family – mom, dad, big sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and all his extended family and friends.
Jacob loved playing with his big sisters, Taylor and Kaitlyn, whom he absolutely adored. He enjoyed his family time spent on the lake boating, fishing, and camping. He spent special time with dad watching hockey, monster truck races but most of all Redskins football. He enjoyed his special time with mommy reading, going to the playground and their special snuggle time at night. His favorite song was, as he called it, “Mazin’ Gace” (Amazing Grace) and at his request she joyfully sang it each night at bedtime.
Jacob had an incredible smile, beautiful blue eyes that would light up with his most infectious laugh. He made friends with everyone he met and was adored by many. During Jacob’s very brief time with us, he brought us happiness beyond all belief. Jacob taught us what it means to be a family. It is a special gift we will have throughout our lives here in this world. We miss his big beautiful smile, his many spontaneous hugs and kisses and his unmistakable laugh. His beautiful memories are all we have left of him now, and they comfort us even as they break our hearts.
Our lives were changed as we knew it on January 12, 2006 when our precious son was taken from this world. He is forever two – immortal in our minds. Our lives are divided into the life we had with Jacob and the life we now have without him. No event so defines us.
Because our girls wanted to have a place they could connect to, in honor of his beautiful memory, we decided to turn our grief into something positive. With the love and support of our Holy Cross Academy Family here in Fredericksburg, VA we have been able to start a playground fund in Jacob’s memory. To help support this fund we were encouraged to hold this charity event and look forward to the inaugural Jacob Michael Storck Charity Golf Tournament to be held on September 30, 2011. We hope to enrich the lives of our Holy Cross Academy Families and honor the memory of our beloved Jacob by being able to improve and maintain the school playground as a place for children to play and pray.
We want to thank our sponsors for their generous donations to make all of this possible. Additional sponsors for this event are being added regularly, so please, continue to check our website daily for updates. We encourage you to support our sponsors as they have supported us.
